Hey I got to my new casa last night. I just want to let you guys know that i got here safely. This is so different then I thought it was going to be because i ' m currently at an internet cafe which is way different. love you guys talk to you all soon and happy late birthday henry!!
Merry Christmas Everyone!

Joe got into the field on Monday.  He didn't have anytime to write so I will give the
quick update from our short phone call with him on Tuesday morning.

Monday morning he woke at 2am and after saying goodbye to friends at the MTC,
he went to the mission home in Puebla City- a very beautiful place he said and
then headed to his area which it turns out to be several hours away from the city
in a mountainous area on the very outskirts of his mission.  The city's name is
Tetela de Ocampo.  Joe rode on 4 different buses, one smaller bus and a taxi to
get there.  He got there about 9pm.  A very long day safe to say.  The last four
pictures above are looking outside his window from his 2nd story apartment which
is located over local shops.  His companion's name is Elder Macardo and he is
native to Mexico.

We are excited to talk him on Monday (his P-day) and learn more about what
it's like where he is.  We did hear that they have to fill two buckets of water every
time to use the toilet, it's colder temperature there (no heat/AC) and he had
already met the 1st counselor in their branch at his food cart on the street.  It
appears his companion speaks very little English, so he is in for quite an
adventure.

We are grateful at this time of year for the Savior and for the message of the
restored gospel.

Take care,
Emily
