Just a solid week!

 So this last week was a pretty good! I have come to terms that President Guthrie will just be a permanent resident of this district because he was at district council again this week and he said that he really likes coming and he will see us all soon. Then we had some really good lessons this week with Javier and Jenris they are starting to take steps to come closer to their savior. It is really amazing to see when this happens and how much happier they look. I also had exchanges with Elder Callister which he was sick and he had no idea what was going on the whole day because he speaks vietnamese not spanish it was pretty funny and we also got stuck in the middle of nowhere waiting to get pick up because the Elders forgot to come get us hahaha. Church yesterday was a down pour and I got absolutely drenched in my suit just trying to get there was hard and trying get back was worst. I have never seen so much rain before in my life hahaha. New Year's

 Hey y'all hope you have had a great New years! The 2020 nightmare is over and we can just keep our fingers crossed that isn't wasn't just the trailer for 2021 hahaha. So this week was an interesting one because some how I became district leader.🤷‍♂️ Yeah I know who could have seen that coming not me but we only have 2 companionships. So we had president Guthrie sit in on district council which was fun and slightly causing me anxiety. It was way fun. Then we stayed up and drank Welsh's grape juice but the fancy kind that we were gifted by the other Elders for new years it was pretty fun. Other than that not much happened. So I hope y'all have a great week

Hey it was Christmas

 This last week was pretty good! So as y'all know it was Christmas and what I did for Christmas was have a big breakfast with the district. Which was sweet I made orange rolls that were literally to die for. I don't think I could make them again that good even it I tried. I also got to go caroling this week as well which was way fun half in Spanish and half in English and one of the Elders got a little to into one of the songs and her ended up singing a solo while we all where in shock. Then this is probably the craziest part of my week. So we were at Javier's house and the bishop called and asked if Elder Francom could play the piano for church. So then Javier asked if Elder Francom played the guitar which he said no but Elder Holmgren does and he says wait here I have a gift for you then and walks into his house and comes back with an electric guitar and says this is for you. So now I have an electric guitar. I wonder what people we thing passing me on the road because I am a guy in a white shirt and tie with a guitar strapped to my back while on a bike. Not much more than RAIN

 

So this last week this last week it rained like 3 days straight. So we had a lot of lessons fall but one day we got to do service in the rain. Where we moved a woman in the English ward. It was a down pour. I didn't think I could get so wet from like 20 minutes out side but they proved me wrong. Then we sang for our ward Christmas party which was so bad because you could hear us at all and it was obvious that we had no practice and didn't know the words in Spanish. So that was a RIP. And that's about all that happened this week. I hope all of have a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

🎄Christmas Conference🎄

Hey everybody it's me again hope y'all had a great week. This last week was Christmas conference which was really good and kinda hectic because we got the 10 minutes last which wasn't very good. Then we had a very long devotional. Then came the fun parts they split us up into 4 groups and put us in 4 different rooms which were all different. The first that I was in we watched a choir singing and a slide show. Then we went into a different room that had a bunch of different depictions of the nativity which was super cool to see all of the different versions of it throughout the world. Then the next room was a slide show but with the testimonies of the prophets and the apostles. Then the final room there was a bunch of pictures of christ in a bunch different depictions what was actually really really amazing. The we had lunch was a little BBQ which was not incredible but that what almost everyone said because it wasn't the real thing is what I heard a lot of people who have been here for a while say. But it was still pretty ok. Then we had a talent show  no I didn't perform because obviously I did want to steal the spotlight because in the 10 commandments it says something along the line of don't steal or something. Right? Then we had more meeting and a training to finish it off. Pretty good one of my favorite 12 hour meetings. Not much else happened this week other then I have been playing a lot more basketball the I have recently. Which is fun. Hope y'all have a good week!

Exploded glass!!

 Hey everybody, its Elder Holmgren again how are y'all doing? This last week was a pretty good one am I right? I got to get totally and completely soaked again. That was fun! As a district we had a competition of who can drink a bottle of water the fastest by the way I lost. It turned into who can actually drink the water as they shove a plastic water bottle into there face. While some people look like they are going to drown. It was pretty amusing. Can't say I wasn't laughing. I also got to help with Christmas Conference set up which was also kinda fun. It kinda reminded we of working back home. Which was kinda weird. Last week I was on exchanges and we were making chicken in the oven and the glass just decided to give up and exploded sending glass every where in the oven which was pretty cool. Oh and my fire alarms went off every night this week on average of 3 times a night and no my house is not on fire yet. They came and said they fixed it but I don't believe them because as soon as he left it went off again and I am just wait to have PTSD again. No much else happened this week. Happy Thanksgiving!!

 This last week was so sweet! So we had Thanksgiving with the district which was way sweet and when I mean we had thanks giving- I mean we had Thanksgiving. We got everything turkey, potatoes, gravey, and pies! I got to make the turkey and it went surprisingly well. We also played chubby bunny and my companion can do something so holy. He can fit 5 of the mega jumbo marshmallows in his mouth all at one. It impressive but also completely horrifying and as a father I could be prouder. I also went biking in a rain storm on exchanges with Elder Brinkman this week. I was so wet I think I could have poured water out of my shoe like turning on a hose. Which was way fun! Can't wait for it to rain again (sarcastically) but it did lead to a really good lesson with a recent convert. Love you all stay safe!
